Using the Google Offline Conversions Channel

You can use the Google offline conversions channel to send transaction history to Google and link offline activity to your ad campaigns.

Configuring the Google offline conversions channel

Before you can upload transaction history to your Google ads account, you must first configure the channel properties.

  • Properties:

    • The Google developer token (obtained from the Google Ads manager account being linked to the channel)

    • The client customer ID (a number similar to the format 000-111-2222 and found in the top right hand corner of the Web UI).

    • The OAuth2 client ID (retrieved from the Google developers console).

    • The OAuth2 client secret (retrieved from the Google developers console).

    • The OAuth2 refresh token (generated by running the OAuth2 token generator application).

    • A lead file output directory (a file location where the system will export campaign information before uploading it to Google).

  • Field roles (Server Config Tool):

    • EmailAddress

  • Fields (Field List) - the Display Name column can be used as an alias to match the required name in bold:

    • Transaction Key (TransactionKey)

    • Transaction DateTime (Time)

    • Transaction Value (Value)

    • Transaction Currency (Currency) - the 3 letter code, e.g. USD/GBP

    • (Optional) Transaction id (OrderId)

  • Properties (Selection):

    • Conversion Action - this list is populated with items downloaded as part of a job (Get Conversion Action Lists)

Uploading Google offline conversions

Note: to upload offline conversions, you must first enable auto-tagging in your Google ads account.

  • Log into your Google ads account.

  • Select the settings tab from the navigation menu.

  • Select the account settings tab.

  • Locate and enable auto-tagging.

To upload your offline conversions:

  1. Create a selection against your transaction history table.

  2. In the selection properties, select the field list created when configuring your offline conversions channel.

  3. Select the Google offline conversion channel for your selection export channel.

  4. Export the selection.
